Server wipe, eeek.

I do understand the need for a wipe and fully support the devs in their decision. They must do what they have to do to make the game stable.

There are a few things that I hope can be put back the way they were without any negative effects to the server, and I'd like to put forth my wishes for the following:

- Twilek Stat Migrations - Currently the Twilek can only get a max of 400 stamina, which is inadequate for an Entertainer. We had a fix for that a while back, and I'm hoping we can see this fixed again. I will hold off putting time into my Twilek Ent on the hopes this can be fixed again.

- New Requirements for Cities - I see that the number of required citizens per city rank has been raised quite a bit. I am not sure why this was raised, and can only assume the devs don't want as many cities in the game as before, maybe they were detrimental to server performance? It would be nice to see the max rank requirement lowered to at least 20 instead of 35, this is still 10 more than was required previously.

- Politician - Can we do something to make it easier to level Politician? I honestly don't know if I can do this again at the rate it was before. It took me many months to master Politician, and the thought of going through that again is less than appealing. We can max level a combat toon in a heartbeat, but Politition.....months, UGH.

I am still in a bit of limbo as to what direction I want to take on this new server as my niche in the game was centered around the player city and housing (decorating). With the new rules and the ultra long wait to Master Politician I am not sure what I should do. For starters I guess I just need to get harvesting ore and grinding up a character, hehe.

I will likely add more to this list as I move forward, please don't take any of this as complaining, it's just my wishes for the possible future.

I completely agree with the politician grind needing a little boost to xp, lets face it, it blows. As for the city population i can completely understand why they did this, there were far more cities around than we needed. With everyone getting 5 toons, less than 10 people can hold a metropolis without a problem. I like the thought that every planet isn't Maxxed with Metro in case we get a large influx of new players and they would like to start their own cities as well.

I agree with both posts above me. However here are some things I would like to see change in the future with our new server.

BH- I would love to see BH get some small tweaks to make them more efficient killers. By this I mean the ability to use FastBlast and SprayShot with Pistols, Carbs, and the LLC/LLR. Being able to use those abilities with those 3 weapons would enable BH's to feel more unique and optimize their damage output.

With these small changes to BH, I would love to see a group TEF system for GCW and BH TEF's. If a rebel BH attacks a overt jedi target that said BH should be flipped overt along with the jedi to allow a more risky hunt.

Jedi- I would love to see some big changes to jedi. First let me start off by saying that if journeymen does come back most of these changes are for that specific tree. When journeymen was first released it was said that Padwan's were not alpha and journeymen would help those said Padwans reach the knighthood and become that alpha class. However this was not the case.

Saber Block- I believe the saber block for jedi should be untouched, jedi do not need nerfs believe me a out of the box jedi so to speak is a lot stronger than what we have here. If saber block does Change I recommend lowering to 55 then gaining the extra 30 saber block through journeymen since it is meant to get you ready to be a knight.

Padwan Cloaks Rebel/Imperial- These cloaks are meant strictly for padwans, so why is the cost to craft these so high? If the padwan's is not an alpha class then these cloaks should not be so costly to make. I recommend lowering the cost to craft these cloaks by more than half to allow a more efficient crafting and more of these cloaks to allow newer jedi ( since we will all need one now ) to have one.

Journeymen Crystal packs- These crystal packs are op within themselves but very much needed to help us complete Jedi/Dark Knight. However the cost to make these crystal packs are severely high and it is almost unlikely to gain both crystal packs without having 3 miners or a lot of miner friends. This doesn't seem to be a jedi way. I believe these crystal packs should be on a different basis, a lootable one. Either making these craftable via gaining components from mobs in order to craft these or making the packs by themselves lootable. This way the player as a jedi can make themselves better without the need of a gathering profession.

Again these are just my thoughts, please let me know what you think :)

Hello All,

First I would like to say thank you for staying here after the wipe. We greatly appreciate it. I would also like to add server stability is number one. Once we ensure we are good, we will make changes, until than, everything will remain as is.

Let me address a few of these questions, they are pretty good.

- We have a fix, but it will not be put into place until we can ensure server is stable.

- You are correct, on one planet we had over 35 cities. Most of them had 5 or less citizens. Player cities are not meant to be had by everyone. This also was something that contributed to server performance and we had to adjust.

- Politician - Can we do something to make it easier to level Politician? I honestly don't know if I can do this again at the rate it was before. It took me many months to master Politician, and the thought of going through that again is less than appealing. With the new rules and the ultra long wait to Master Politician I am not sure what I should do. For starters I guess I just need to get harvesting ore and grinding up a character, hehe. - You can still have a city with 5 characters. But to rank up you will have to expand your circle of friends :)

I will likely add more to this list as I move forward, please don't take any of this as complaining, it's just my wishes for the possible future.

My wish for the server

Toons need shorter arms I have no idea what the devs were thinking with this artwork but toons that resemble tyrannosaurs would be more visually entertaining I think.

Real Time Smells. Do you know what a hutt smells like? Or a durni? Or a gungan? Well neither do I, but it is about time we find out! I happen to have 1200 surplus smellovision devices from 1960 which I would be willing to let go cheap if this is implemented.
Now, you ask, how could we be even MORE cutting edge? Farts!

We fart in real life, so why was this never added to the game? Coupled with the smellovision mentioned above, I think this could add a realism no other game in the history of mankind has had.

Non Moving entertainers. All the current entertainer moves and flourishes make me dizzy. Why can't I just stare longingly at a stationary character that simply glares at me, motionless, just like that lady I stare at every morning on the EL?

Last, Developer Lottery. A player is randomly selected and is assigned developer access for a day. I know this seems risky, but I feel very confident that we can always trust people on the internet.

I mean, I trusted that African ambassador fella that is going to wire my bank account with 10 million US. I trusted him with my SSN, and my bank information, it should only be a few more weeks I think...

Well these are my suggestions. I sure hope to see some or all of them real soon!

Okay added a little humor right after your very serious post. bad timing on my part :)

However, I see you a lot, and from my end, it is the dev presence and how they treat players that keeps us here. I mean look, 285 as I type this, I dunno where it will be in a year, but I do know that right now, that number can be directly attributed to how the server has been run

People, who can't wait JTL in PreCU! There is an idea: X-Wing Alliance can be our "JTL":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYgN18LMfhU

How to play Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance in Multiplayer

Both PvP ("versus" in terms of XWA days) and сo-op modes seems available. A TONS of ships (including my famous N-1 Starfighter). A TONS of missions (MUCH more, than JTL had + 3rd part content + mission editor), which can be done with friends or solo. And 4x4, at minimum, PvP dogfights.

What's admins (or volunteers) need to do:

1. Make our own XWA rooms on this GameRanger (or what's there), where only Rogue One peoples would be able to fly. This will happen approximately like we already chatting on TeamSpeak and (or) switching between two SWGemu windows (despite the switching will be to/from just another excellent game). GameRanger is still active product and have a free version - I checked.

2. Write an detalied "How To connect and use XWA in conjunction of SWGemu" (perhaps - make a special forum theme, or, even, a special page on RO site and establish a tech support guy) and instruct those who want. In general, almost everything contains in the video above, but there may be a pitfalls, and it is necessary to test and polish SWGemu+XWA combo to the smallest detail.

What's potential pilots needs:

1. A copy of XWA, of course, in addition to copy of SWG. eBay and Google could help. In common, XWA is same abandonware as SWG, it's was a last (and best - IMHO) Lucas Arts space simulator realised in 1999th.

2. Joystick aka gamepad. It's necessary for XWA (will not work without), unlike SWG JTL.

3. Light head, straight hands and a desire to learn a lot.

And - yes, don't throw your shoes and rotten tomatoes. Be constructive. :)

Just a heads up... though no longer sold or supported, SWG is NOT abandonware. It is still a crime to pirate it, and the Disney monster will bite if you do.

Somehow or other, RO peoples, who purchased X-Wing Alliance and have joystick (XWA will not work without joystick and original CD in Your laser drive), are able to try 4x4 PvP Space Death Matches just now, on pure enthusiasm. Between ground game in SWGemu. Or try to attack Second Death Star (or another difficult XWA PvE content), like there:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcwMiNGsIik

X-wing Alliance: 4 Player Co-op Death Star Attempt!

No any admin's help needed, video that I found is enough. Later - this moving, maybe, will be accepted, described in How-To's and take shapes of our own flight squadrons.
